I would have to say it's pretty much waterproof, the side bags unzip and fold down into paneer bags, it's awesome. It's sort of built like a cooler with padding, it even has a shoulder strap if you wanted to take it off and pack it somewhere.
This opens up on both sides as panniers so you can fill them with groceries,pic ic or beach accessories, ets. Great value!
